Mireille Messier is a Montreal-born, Ottawa-raised and now Toronto-based writer.

Most of Mireille’s books are published in French and range in genre – from picture books, to short novels and non-fiction. She also writes for various children’s magazines (Owl, Yes, Know, Les débrouillards) and youth television shows (MégaTFO, Kids CBC).

Mireille has picture books that are available in English and in French (Sergeant Billy, Fatima and the Clementine Thieves, The Branch and Treasure). These are ideal for anglophone students and when wishing to present the same book to French and English classes.

Mireille Messier is a professional member of l’Association des auteurs de l’Ontario Français (AAOF), of The Writers’ Union of Canada, of The Canadian Children’s Book Centre, SCBWI and CANSCAIP.

Schools wishing to invite her may be eligible for a travel and fee subsidy to off-set the cost of her visit. For details of this program, please contact her.
